Art Canizares
Assistant Women's Tennis Coach

A United States Professional Tennis Registry instructor, Art Canizares has worked as tennis professional at Montclair Golf, Swim, and Tennis Club, as well as at the Fredericksburg Country Club. He begins his eighth year as assistant coach at UMW, having helped the team to the NCAA Tournament and CAC Championships in each of his first six seasons. In 2011, he was named by the ITA as the Atlantic South Assistant Coach of the Year, and won the award again in 2013. Canizares is a 1995 graduate of Duke University and resides in Fredericksburg.
